Judy Starr

US big band and radio singer and actress. Known for singing with a Southern accent. Born: January 9, 1913 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, USA. She was frequently heard with Rudy Vallee's band in the Fleischmann Variety Hour over the NBC-Red Networkbeginning in 1936. Judy got the job because Rudy liked her voice when he heard her sing from Hollywood over the radio. She was also heard on radio shows the "Rudy Valee Hour" and "Time to Shine with Hal Kemp's Orchestra". She also appeared on stage at the Lyric Theater in Indianapolis.
