The female vocalist, actress and performer was born on July 16th, 1977 in Dayveton, a small township just east of Johannesburg, South Africa. She began by singing in the local church choir at the age of seven, and she eventually moved to Johannesburg where she attended St. Mary's High School. At the age of 15 she caught the eye of music producer Don Laka, establishing her music career with the popular South African band Boom Shaka (3) in 1994. She turned solo in 1999, released her debut album "Dream" and also recorded with American star Keith Sweat on his "Africa Only" album release. Her next album, "Drama Queen" released in 2004, earned her the South African Music Award for best dance album, topped the country's pop charts, and in 2006 she was nominated for a British MOBO award. Locally, she has worked with the likes of DJ Christos, Vinny Da Vinci and Shana. Sadly, she died on the 23 October 2006 around 00:30, Monday morning after her driver lost control of her vehicle on a highway east of Gauteng, South Africa.
