Jofus Smith

Born in Detroit walking distance from Hittsville USA on Grand Blvd. in the 70's.He began his musical career at the early age of 10 by picking up many instruments from strings to percussion. He performed in school orchestras during his formative years. Traveling to traditional and competition powwows in the US at the age of 14 he sat at his first drum group at 16.. Today he performs as a singer in traditional Native American drum groups internationally. Jofus’ natural ear for music led him to blend his diverse taste for natural rhythms with the freedom and flexibility of being a DJ. Back in the early 90's He honed his skills on the wheels of steel and Live P.A by playing for friends at house parties in high school. After parties at powwows (also called 49ers), and in Detroit’s world-renowned techno clubs, and it's Rave scene. His music has moved crowds across the globe with his unique style of mixing cultural and electronic music. Jofus has also worked on a wide range of electronic productions from Jingles for ads to sound branding a company. As a DJ , Producer, and VJ has played along side and worked with some of top electronic artists in the world.
