João Vieira

João Vieira's career as a Dj started in the late 90s in London, promoting and playing records at Club Kitten in London. Back to his hometown (Porto, Portugal) in 2001, his career took off as a dj, selling out 2000 people capacity venues in Porto, and revolutionizing the club night by mixing punk records with disco, 80's electro and post-punk. He played all the major festivals, which led to a 5 year residence at Lux club in Lisbon. João has shared the dj booth with names like 2 many djs, Boys noize, Sebastian, Felix da housecat, Rory Phillips and others. He released 5 albums with his post punk electronic band X-wife, where he sings, plays guitar and co-writes all the music. In 2013 he releases the "white haus ep", his first work as a music producer, writing, performing and producing all the music. A mix of genres, heavily influenced by the New York leftfield disco, the West coast ‘80s electro and no wave. White Haus has released 3 albums and one ep. To survive a long and inescapable pandemic, his creative mind is now built on Wolf Manhattan, his new folk-punky-garage persona, a true escape from the complexities of day-to-day life. The sharply outlined songs, the warmth of the analogue sound and the familiar themes are the perfect (self)relief for an overproduced and saturated world. The full sense of comfort comes as an album, which gatefold is also a board game, and a book with the entire history of Wolf Manhattan, released by Stolen Books Publishers.
