Anchise Bolchi

Born in Mantova Italy, one of the most famous and requested country artists in Italy. Passionate about American popular music, with a particular appreciation for the modern country music, he took up his first guitar at the age of nine and since then, self-taught, he has expanded his interests to many other instruments. Today his main instrument is the violin, but he plays any type of string instrument indifferently. In 1990, the decision to pursue a professional career in music led him to abandon work, and to join the country-rock group "ARIZONA". Soon he gets appreciated by the experts for the excellent quality of his "picking" techniques, so much so that LIGABUE wants him with him in 1992 for an album, "Lambrusco, Coltelli e Popcorn" and for a tour in which he plays violin, steel guitar, dobro and banjo. Other study collaborations will follow with ORNELLA VANONI for the album "Stella Nascente", where she plays steel guitar and dobro, with FAUSTO LEALI for "Saranno Promossi" (steel guitar) and with MARIO LAVEZZI (dobro and steel guitar). Anchise's Passion also leads him to collaborate with well-known foreign artists, such as in the 1992 Turin concert where he plays with the famous Texan songwriter GUY CLARK, or the improvised 1993 jam session with Alvin Crow in Austin, Texas. He had the opportunity to duet with STEVE YOUNG, in 1996 at the "El Paso Saloon" in Milan. Since 1991, Anchise Bolchi has performed as a soloist, touring Italy without stopping to meet the numerous requests of locals or by event promoters. To better experience his repertoire he decided, in 1992, to accept the offer of the managers of the Gardaland amusement park, who were looking for a country artist for their "western city". At the beginning of 1997, his first work on CD was finally printed, entitled "THE LAST TRACK", which contains the maximum expression of his abilities played and sung entirely by him, contains remakes of popular country and pop songs, reworked in key modern and stylistically impeccable. In 1998 he performed in Verona with the legendary guitarist Albert Lee and in October of the same year, he left for a tour in America with the New Country Kitchen group. At the end of 1999, the last album "THE SPACE FIDDLER", (NDR) album of technical and stylistic maturity comes out. In 2000 during a tour in America he ventured into the annual "Fiddle Contest" (Violin competition) in Colorado, finishing second. In 2003 he received the nomination for Best Non-American Country Artist from the CMA Country Music Association in Nashville. In 2005, Anchises and friends started a group called "NEXT STOP BAND". The band offers songs ranging from Irish Rock music to the new generation of Country-Rock, in which the energy of vocal structures and electro-acoustic sounds is appreciated. In 2009 the singer/composer from Nashville MICHAEL PETERSON chooses him and the "Next Stop Band" as its European support band. In 2015 LIGABUE wants it in his epic performance held in Campo Volo of Reggio Emilia.
