Claude Carrière

French jazz producer, journalist (for "Jazz Hot" from 1969 to 1970) and pianist. Born March 14, 1939 in Rodez - died February 20, 2021 in Paris). Producer of jazz compilations and samplers for different labels. He was the president from the "Académie du Jazz" from 1993 to 2004 and was worldwide reknowned for his profound knowledge about Duke Ellington (own broadcast show "Tout Duke" on France Musique from 1976 to 1984 with 400 transmissions; liner & sleeve notes on several Reissues). From 1982 to 2008 producer of "Jazz Club" on France Musique (live broadcasts) with co-producer Jean Delmas.
