In the '60s in Lincoln, NE, a group of students formed the group Los Tropicales. Below is their own bio statement from their self-titled LP that was recorded in 1968 and, based upon the release number, was released in 1969. Several years ago a group of students decided to experiment with the native music of their homelands and a small combo, Los Tropicales, was formed. As years went by, the individual members were substituted yet the flavor and style of the group changed only slightly. Our repertoire grew with the acceptance of a wider range of sources for songs. The "new sound" was truly International with an unmistakable Latin flavor.
