Mexican Spanish songwriter Rafael O’Dogherty Ghersi was born in San Fernando, Cádiz, Spain on March 25, 1917. Fed up with suffering all kinds of political and social persecution, in 1950 Rafael decided to go into exile in Mexico. Rafael entered Mexico through the port of Veracruz, for what was considered Veracruzano, "pure jarocho". At this moment he begins his new life and Rafael Cárdenas is born. From his inspiration and mastery, forming tandem with maestro Rubén Fuentes, one of the most prominent Mexican composers of the second half of the twentieth century, whom he admired, came out beautiful compositions, which have been versioned by the best performers in Mexico and Latin America and also from Spain; We can mention Pedro Infante, Lola Beltrán, Vicente Fernández, Miguel Aceves Mejía, Trio Los Panchos, Marc Anthony, etc. Together with maestro Solano, he composed Spanish-cut songs, which have been performed by Isabel Pantoja ("La Gente"), Rocío Jurado (“Advertencia”, "Como Si Fuera Pecado"), ("Por Dinero") and Marifé de Triana, ( "Como Un Amor Extraño"), etc. In his more than fifty years of stay in the Aztec country, Rafael Cárdenas, Member of the Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico, left a broad legacy to the rich Mexican folklore of a multitude of tangos, pasodobles, huapangos, guarachas and boleros, highlighting the validity that their songs continue to have many decades after composing. At his death he left a repertoire of more than a thousand songs among which: “La Del Rebozo Blanco”, “La Novia Del Torero”, “Que Murmuren”, “Escándalo”, “Al Derecho Y Al Revés”, "El Último Aviso”, “Amor Se Dice Cantando” and a long etc.
