Hajime Hirano

Japanese drummer, lyricist born 1951 in Tokyo. Started professional activities as a drum player while attending Keio University. Since 1972, he has participated in live performances and recordings by various artists including Yumi Matsutoya. He has been a lyricist since around 1985, and since 1987 he has expanded his activities to include novels and travel reports. Since 1993, he has been publishing the mystery novel 『昆虫巡査』"Insect Police Officer" (Shodensha) series. Since then, he has published works in the unique field of nature mystery. Currently, in addition to writing, he is also active as a guitar, bouzouki, and percussion player.
