Manuel Tejada

Dominican producer, composer, arranger and instrumentalist. Made a career in veterinary medicine before deciding to study music. Founder of Midilab Grabaciones Born november 26th 1957, Santo Domingo Dominican Republic, Tejada is also one of those responsible for the sound of the merengue of the 80s and 90s, a privilege that he boasts with pride. He became one of the main merengue arrangers of three decades ago. The contact with the pop of United States and the metals of the groups of "rhythm and blues" of the 80 they served him as influence at the time of working the rhythm of the güira and the tambora. In his arrangements the trumpets, trombones and saxophones are closer to the dynamic sound of the American funk bands, such as Tower of Power, Earth Wind and Fire or Jerry Hey.
