Paul Doran is an Irish singer-songwriter. He is best known as the writer of 'Natives', made popular by Christy Moore and later sung by Paolo Nutini, and for 'Poison Words' recorded by Mary Black and Mary Coughlan. He began performing in Dublin in the 1970s and was part of the Coffee Kitchen folk club's 'Kitchen Band'. He worked as a session singer in the 1980s and became known as a songwriter when the band Moving Hearts performed two of his songs and he co-wrote ‘Make it Work’ with Christy Moore for the Self-Aid concert.
