Their mother, originally named Rosie Bowden, performed at Exeter's Hippodrome and was "Auntie Rosie" at an Exeter cinema. Her husband Fred as a petrol tanker driver. Colin sang with the Oscar Rabin Orchestra and appeared on BBC radio's "Go Man Go" programme. He died on 17 March 2013, aged 78.
