Aileene Hanks

Blind American Gospel songwriter and pianist. Born September 8, 1933 in Kennett, Missouri. Died November 24, 1997 in Huntsville, Alabama (64 years old) She is the author of the Southern Gospel song, "In My Father's House (Are Many Mansions)" which was recorded by Elvis Presley on "His Hand In Mine" album. Hanks is quoted as saying "I would not exchange the talent God has given me to sing, play the piano and write gospel songs for my eyesight."
