Hungarian composer and conductor, born 14 November 1943 in Pécs, Hungary. He defected to the West in 1967, settling in Sweden in the early 1970s. He began his studies at the Conservatory of Music in Budapest and then continued to the Liszt Academy. He studied at the Stockholm Academy of Music after coming to Sweden in 1968. He started working at the Electronic Music Studio in Stockholm in 1970 and got a job as the studio's first teacher in 1971 and stayed until 1978. In 1976-80 he was also a teacher at the Academy of Music. Composer-in-residence in Berlin 1980-81, invited by "Der Berliner Künstlerprogram des DAAD". Holder of State Income Guarantee for artists since 1991.
