Bartolo

Brazilian artist from Rio de Janeiro born in 1974. Based in Lisbon (Portugal) since 2019, where he runs Estúdio Monumental. As a music producer and instrumentalist, Bartolo has worked on solo projects and collaborations with artists including Miguel Rio Branco, Damo Suzuki, M. Takara, Paal Nilssen-Love, Arnaldo Antunes and Caetano Veloso, among others. In mid 90's studied electroacoustic music with Vania Dantas Leite. In 1999 created with Pedro Sá and Ro Tapajós Kong Dub Studios (RJ, Brazil), where made several records in partnership with Jonas Sá, Moreno Veloso and Pedro Sá. Later, in 2010, created Matrioshka Studios (now, Estúdio Casinha RJ, Brazil) in Partnership with Moreno Veloso. Bartolo also has been working with sound installations and performances, as solo and (since 2001) with Duplexx an experimental electronic project on the borderline between music and sound art.
