Santtu Laakso

Santtu started his musical career in late 1986 as the singer of Finnish thrash metal band Oppression. Then started doom/death metal band Exitus. In the early 90s Santtu was one of the co-founders of psychedelic space rock band Dark Sun, where he played bass and synthesizers and sung backing vocals until the band went on hiatus indefinitely in 2007. In 2019 he returned to playing music joining local groups UFO-tutkimuksia and Octopus Syng (he no longer plays actively in neither one). Astral Magic is his new solo project started during the corona-19 lockdown in 2020. The idea is to do all kinds of psychedelic music with some guests on guitar, violin etc. The styles include electronic, ambient, cosmic, space rock, krautrock, psych rock, ethnic, folk, you name it.
