Per Nyström (2)

Swedish cellist, born May 6, 1968. He has studied for Guido Vecchi, Torleif Thedéen and Ola Karlsson and for William Pleeth in London. He made his solo debut with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in 1994. Per Nyström is one of the founders of The Yggdrasil String Quartet. He is also the artistic director of Aurora Chamber Music, a concept for chamber music festivals and international master classes. In addition to the foremost professors and artists on all orchestral instruments, 1,300 young artists from five continents have visited Aurora since its inception. Per Nyström plays a cello built by Giuseppe & Antonio Gagliano in Naples from 1796. In 2013, Per Nyström is awarded the medal Litteris et Artibus for outstanding artistic contributions as a cellist.
