In the late 80's, Rock´n´ Roll Machine started composing a variety of artists. It started with Haakon Pedersen, Lasse Lindbom, Peter Lundblad, Stefan Rydén and others. In the early 90's it was Tommy Nilsson, Thore Skogman, Kurt Olsson, Lasse Berghagen, Anders Lundin, Mats Ronander, Tove Jaarnek, Tova Carson, Lili & Susie and others. In 1991, the band came in contact with Ted Gärdestad, it became a 5 year long collaboration. The band rehearsed with Ted at Balsta Musikslott in Eskilstuna. In October 1991, Ted and RRM *) played at "Frimis" in Örebro. Ted was a secret guest and it was his comeback on stage after about 10 years of silence. Pretty soon after that gig, the band came in contact with Harpo. He had worked a lot with Ted in the 70's. It was decided that it would be a Revival Tour with Ted & Harpo and RRM in the summer of 1992. It was a 20s gig on much larger stages than what the band has been through before. Between the concerts with Ted, Harpo brought RRM to Germany at big galas and the band got to play for audiences of 15,000-25,000 people and had the pleasure of meeting many legends at the galas. Susie Quatro, Mungo Jerry (Ray Dorset), Sailor, The Rubettes, The Tremeloes, George McCrae, Leo Sayer, ELO and many more. The band got the chance to play at Gruga Halle in Essen, the same arena where many of the band members on TV saw their big rock idols in live broadcasts on Swedish TV which lasted from midnight to early morning on Saturday nights now and then during the 70's. In 1993, Ted ended up number one on the Swedish top with "För Kärlekens Skull", as a newly recorded extra track on the compilation album "Kalendarium 1972-93". It was a long tour that took RRM together with Ted to almost all Swedish Street Festivals. The final of the tour was at the Water Festival in Stockholm in front of 15,000 people. There was also radio, P3 Live, TV recording together with Ted and RRM in TV3 & Z-TV's series "Unplugged". As a curiosity, it can be mentioned that Helen Sjöholm was in the band on that particular recording. In the winter of 1996 on December 13, RRM played with Ted for the last time it was in Gävle. It would also be Ted's last gig ever. Unfortunately, he took his life on June 22, 1997 at Häggviks station in Sollentuna.
