Peter Reeves is a country singer songwriter from regional Victoria. Locomotive driver by day, country singer by night, he is the real-deal, wear your heart on your sleeve country artist. A man who’s lived all the high’s and low’s, he writes songs with honestly and passion while keeping a good sense of humour and positivity that’s quite rare. Working Man is Peter Reeves debut EP. He amps up the country guitars and rocking drums in equal measure to create this exciting and authentic new release. Growing up in Newbridge, Victoria, Peter has done the hard yards on the land and in the pubs and to quote a line from the pedal to the metal opening track, Working Man: ‘swelt in the heat, drown in the rain, paid my dues, time and time again’. Supported by a star studded backing band including Nashville guitarist Rick Plant (Sherry Rich) and Doug Lee Robertson (Ice-cream Hands), this EP was recorded at Mountain Sound Studio at Hanging Rock and mixed by John Baxter (Prettymess, Alcotomic). It is bristling with humour, irreverent Aussie larikinism and an edginess that is both refreshing and uplifting. Peter is planning to take the band on a national tour when restrictions are lifted in Australia.
