Upright bass player and banjo luthier. Died March 13, 2020 at the age of 71. He had his own band in the late 1970s and early 1980s called The Spirits of Bluegrass. He kept a full schedule with his own business, Heartland Banjo, building banjos for players like Béla Fleck, Scott Vestal and Kristin Scott. He built all of the Kel-Kroydon, Stealth and Smith banjos. His accomplishments include an endorsement with the banjo playing actor Steve Martin.
