Moeck Musikinstrumente + Verlag is a German music publisher and manufacturer of recorders, established in 1925 and located in Celle, Lower Saxony. See also: Moeck Verlag/Edition Moeck labels. The company was established by Hermann Johannes Moeck (1896—1982) as a publisher and began making instruments in 1949, after the Second World War. In 1960, the founder's son, Hermann Alexander Moeck (1922—2010), took over the business. Under his management, Moeck began collaborating with Friedrich Von Huene to produce the first line of antique replicas. Between 1965 and late 2008, when the "Renaissance and Baroque Woodwind Instruments" division closed, Moeck had manufactured various historical instruments, such as crumhorns, rauschpfeifes, shawms, cornetts, and dulcians designed by Otto Steinkopf. Hermann's daughter, Sabine Haase-Moeck, ran the company with her husband between 2002 and 2014; her son, Jan Nikolai Haase, and her nephew, Florian Haase, are currently managing Moeck.
