Saskia Winkelmann

Saskia Winkelmann was born in 1990. She is a writer, DJ and part of the grassroots Tojo Theater Kollektivs. She studied literary writing at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel and the art of language at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. In 2019 she completed her studies with a master’s degree. As an assistant director of two pieces at the Konzert Theater Bern, she participated in 2014 and 2015. In 2013 she received the City of Thun's Culture Promotion Prize. She writes long and short prose texts that have so far appeared in literary magazines and / or presented in readings. She is currently working on her first novel and a record cover with a text by her will soon be appearing. She lives on the edge of the Bremgarten Forest in Bern. They share long walks in the woods with Marie Popall, a friendship that has grown as a result, and a love for the music of Jenny Hval and the literature of Otessa Moshfegh.
