Jonah Sithole (1952–1997) was a Zimbabwean guitarist, vocalist and composer, known particularly for the mbira-inspired style known as mbira-guitar or chimurenga music. He began his musical career in 1971 with the Limpopo Jazz Band. After a brief stint with The Great Sounds, in 1975 he teamed up with Thomas Mapfumo and was a founder member of The Blacks Unlimited, only to leave the band by the end of the year. He then formed his own band The Storm (16) before rejoining The Blacks Unlimited in 1978. In 1981, he once again left to form a band of his own - Deep Horizon (2). He had 2 further stints with The Blacks Unlimited: 1985 to 1989 and then from 1995 until his death in 1977.
