Galit Shira Burg (June 8, 1968 – November 28, 2022) was an Israeli singer best known for her participation in the 1989 Eurovision Song Contest as part of the duo "Gili and Galit." Born in Bat Yam, Israel, she unexpectedly took the stage and joined Gili Nathanel to represent their country with the song "The King's Road," which earned them a 12th place finish out of 22 contestants. Following their Eurovision experience, Galit pursued a music career and even ventured into the international market under the name "Galecia." She later transitioned to a more spiritual path, engaging in singing for religious events and embracing her personal teshuva journey. Galit was a wife and mother of two. Tragically, she passed away in a car accident on November 28, 2022.
