Fresh Moods

I grew up in a village near Giessen, Germany. An electronic organ was my first instrument. My father persuaded me to take lessons. I was just a kid and playing from sheet music didn't excite me. I found it more interesting to change the sound by pushing the controls while playing. I started playing my electronic music favorites. That kept me going. At the age of 23, I studied engineering in Giessen, and together with a DJ I started to set up a recording studio. We composed and produced previously club tracks in the genres of techno and house. Here I started to work for myself. Long studio sessions followed in which I learned everything myself. Mixing, arrangement, programming of the synthesizers and samplers. The first harmonious songs were created, influenced by jazz, soul and electro. I had already signed a contract with the publisher Warner Chappell. I sent the tracks to my A&R. He made contact with Elektrolux, a small label in Frankfurt, Germany. They were immediately impressed. The first album "Fresh Moods - Fresh Moods" was released in '96 for the first time on Elektrolux. It contained the track "Rhythmbreeze". It is one of my most successful compositions to date. In '89 the EP "Fresh Moods - The Fall" was released. The main track received good reviews in music magazines at the time and quickly became a land mark track for electronic music DJs. In '00 the publication "Fresh Moods - Swerve" followed. Due to the great success of the title "Rhythmbreeze" I decided to create a remix of this title, called "Spy Mix", which was also very successful and still is today. The album "Love.Death.Angels" was released for the first time in 2002. The album was already finished and I went to the studio to just make music for myself. The result was the title "Shiny Cage". The label was immediately impressed by this song. It is also one of the titles that best describes the spirit of the project. In 2003 the EP "Fresh Moods & Samuel Andrews - Find My Home/Price" was released. It contained a vocal version of the title "Find My Home", which had already appeared on the album "Love.Death.Angels". In addition, the track "Price" contains the same arrangement and vocals as "Find My Home", only without the sample used and with its own composed chords, melodies and self-programmed sounds. In '06 the album "Exhale" was released. I wanted to give everything again, because it was supposed to be the end the project. This work had consumed me a lot. In fact, it became my most successful album with a chart entry on iTunes. Seven years went by and I thought I had been forgotten until I realized that more and more of my tracks were being uploaded to Youtube by fans. That impressed me. So everything I created couldn't have been so bad. It made me want to be creative again. The basic equipment was still there. I bought a new computer that offered the maximum in performance and doesn't have to hide from any comparison to this day. I started my own label because I knew times had changed. In '13 "Fresh Moods - Carbon Islands" was released. Here I had set myself the goal of put in all the knowledge that I had accumulated over the years. It should sound big, the sounds, the mix, the arrangement, the attention to detail. Just everything. The production had lasted 2 years. The most successful titles are "Cocomilk" and "Nautilus". The album "Orfine" was released in 2016. Here I dedicated myself to classic rhythms of soul, funk and drum'n bass. It is also said I have a high sound quality. This enabled me to start publishing my works on highresaudio.com. The album "Boule" exists since '19. The challenge here was to look for the beautiful in the reduced.
