Luis Blackaller

After graduating from MIT, Luis worked as a Producer and Creative Director for several research initiatives at MIT, where he designed and supervised the execution of alternative strategies of communication and promotion of research, directing a team of documentary videographers and web developers for more than a year. This path encouraged him to start the Boston film collective Fantastic Soup, where he directed and produced a number of experimental and commercial pieces. Then Luis moved to Los Angeles, where he joined a Virtual Reality Studio called Wevr as the Creative Director. During his time at Wevr, Luis has conceived, developed and produced more than twenty narrative Virtual Reality pieces, participated in major film festivals like Sundance and contributed to define new languages for immersive storytelling. Examples of his contribution in the art department can be found in films such Babel (2006), 21 Grams (2003), or Amores Perros (2000). Through Cartoon Distorion, he provides visual imaginary in several areas - Art, Film, Photography, Cartoons and Comics, Geometry, Speculation, Dreams, Television, Etc.
